Swiss filmfest picks Iranian filmmaker for jury

Iranian filmmaker Majid Movasseqi has been selected as a member of jury to judge at the 2018 Visions du Reel Int'l Film Festival in Switzerland.

The Switzerland-based Iranian filmmaker will judge the films in the Interreligious section of the festival, the organizers announced.

Religion communicator Praxedis Bouwman from the Netherlands, editor Nathalie Fritz from Switzerland and producer Daniel Zuta from Germany are the other members of the panel.

Seventeen film from across the world will be screened in the official competition section of the event.

Visions du Réel (Visions of Reality) is an internationally renowned documentary film festival held every April in Nyon, Switzerland.

Established in 1969 as the Nyon International Documentary Film Festival, the event adopted its current name in 1995 and is the largest Swiss documentary festival.

The 2018 edition of the Swiss event will be held in Nyon from April 13 to 21.
